3D Molecules

How I make 3D molecules

First, I use the open crystallography website to find a .cif of the molecule I'm looking for. Then, I use Mercury, a completely free software, to look at the molecule and make the model. Lastly, I use the POVRay engine built into Mercury to render the molecule, but I can also edit the molecule's 3D model's materials, textures, lighting, and environment using the free download of POVRay from their website.
